A neighbourhood clinic that grew into a super speciality practice
Dr Manoj Gerela and Dr Ria Gerela opened Good Health Super Speciality Clinics & Diagnostics in Mulund East in 2001, as a heart and diabetes clinic with a dental surgery alongside it. Today it is still the same two doctors, in the same neighbourhood, with a diagnostics lab added, a second clinic in Bhandup West and consulting sessions at Sigma Hospital & ICCU in Mulund West.
How the practice grew
From one clinic in Tata Colony to three locations
Opened in Mulund East
A heart and diabetes clinic run by Dr Manoj Gerela, with a dental surgery run by Dr Ria Gerela alongside it, in Tata Colony off Navghar Road.
Later
The diagnostics lab was added
A pathology lab and a cardiac diagnostics suite on the same premises, so ECG, 2D echo, treadmill, blood work, pulmonary function testing and digital X-ray could be done and read in the same visit as the consultation.
Later
A second clinic in Bhandup West
Heart and diabetes consultation with Dr Manoj on LBS Marg, so patients on the Bhandup side did not have to cross to Mulund for a follow-up.
Today
Three locations, one practice
Dr Manoj also consults at Sigma Hospital & ICCU in Mulund West. Heart and diabetes care at any of the three. Dental and diagnostics at Mulund East. The same two doctors throughout.
Why it is built this way
What we set out to do
Most people in Mumbai see a doctor in one place, get a test done in another, and carry a paper report between the two. We built this clinic so that would not be necessary.
- Consultation and diagnostics under one roof. ECG, 2D echo and colour Doppler, treadmill, pathology, pulmonary function testing and portable digital X-ray are on the premises at Mulund East. Your doctor reads the result in the same visit.
- Two specialities that overlap more than people expect. Diabetes affects the heart and it affects the gums. Having cardiology, diabetology and dentistry in the same practice means one of us usually notices before the other has to be told.
- Long relationships, not single visits. Many of the families who come here now were first seen twenty years ago. Continuity is the whole point of a neighbourhood practice.
- Three locations, one set of records. Mulund East, Bhandup West and Sigma Hospital & ICCU in Mulund West are the same practice for heart and diabetes care. Dental is at Mulund East.

The Mulund East clinic is a few minutes from Mulund station on the Tata Colony side, off Navghar Road. The Bhandup West clinic is on LBS Marg. Dr Manoj also consults at Sigma Hospital & ICCU on M. G.
