Why both are under one roof

Two specialities that overlap more than people expect

Diabetes affects the heart and it affects the gums. Gum disease and blood sugar affect each other in both directions. Having cardiology, diabetology and dentistry in the same practice means one of us usually notices before the other has to be told.

  • A diabetic patient who needs dental work can have an HbA1c checked in the lab on the premises the same day, rather than being sent elsewhere and waiting.
  • A heart patient on blood thinners can have the cardiologist and the dentist agree a plan before an extraction, in the same building.
  • Tests are read by the doctor who ordered them, usually in the same visit, because the diagnostics suite is on the premises at Mulund East.
